Did you know that rashes can be caused by a parasite? From seeing over 100,000 patient visits in the past 34 years at my Natural Medicine Clinic in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, many of whom have digestive, thyroid, and skin issues, I have seen many Blastocystis symptoms. And I have noticed a lot of patients testing positive for a parasite called Blastocystis Hominis. So I decided to investigate the Blastocystis side effects, immune system effects, and related guy symptoms, and this has led me to look into how to get rid of Blastocystis Hominis naturally.
What is Blastocystis Hominis?
Blastocystis Hominis is a single-cell protozoa amoeba that can cause various issues. Apart from the usual gut symptoms of abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, and IBS, it can cause nausea, abdominal cramps, skin problems, aches and pains, fatigue, and thyroid issues.
In fact, in one study that performed stool tests on patients with hives, 61% tested positive for Blastocystis Hominis. This was compared to stool test results in the control group, where only 8% had Blastocystis without hives.
A Story from My Clinic
I recently had a patient who woke up to lesions all along her back. Naturally, she was quite concerned and turned to several different topical solutions, but it would not go away. Once arriving at my office, we did stool testing, in which she could take home a stool test kit and collect her stool over a few days. Our results found she was positive for the Blastocystis Hominis gut parasite.
I placed her on an eight-week treatment protocol that quickly cleared up her lesions. While most doctors and dermatologists would diagnose this condition as eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, or chronic hives, I could look internally and get to the root cause of her problem. Instead of prescribing lotions, internal steroids, or steroid creams, I could prescribe a treatment that truly resolved it.
What is the Treatment?
So what treatment is recommended for knocking out Blastocystis Hominis? Below are the steps I help my patients take to treat this gut parasite and, ultimately, their skin conditions:
Diet for Blastocystis Hominis Treatment
Diet is an important first step in eliminating this Blastocystis parasite. Most parasites like Blastocystis feed on sugar, grains, and starches. So, even if someone is taking a natural product or medication, eating a bunch of sugar (which is standard to a typical diet) can prevent them from working.
So I recommend a diet program I created called The FreeDiet®. Not only is it free of gluten, but it’s free of gluten, grains, sugar, yeast, dairy, eggs, soy, legumes, nightshades, and processed food. These can all be contributors to gut inflammation and a leaky gut; therefore, avoiding them will starve the yeast and parasites you are working to kill. While also hopefully reducing associated symptoms and possibly healing your gut and immune system. So try to avoid those foods and instead incorporate plenty of quality proteins, vegetables, and healthy fats.
On a Personal Note
I created this diet years ago, around the time I too had this Blastocystis Hominis parasite and was experiencing skin and digestive issues, fatigue, joint pain, and related symptoms, and then tested positive for both Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and rheumatoid arthritis.
It took me years to figure out how to eliminate it because natural products and even prescription drugs were not working. My gut was not healing, and the symptoms were not going away. However, after several trial and error attempts, I found that combining The FreeDiet® with a specific supplement regimen cleared up my Blastocystis symptoms and gut issues.
Sticking to this treatment plan, all symptoms, gut issues, and autoimmune conditions resolved, and I have yet to see this parasite return in over 12 years.
Supplements
Another important aspect of tackling this parasite and associated symptoms (as well as Candida, or yeast, overgrowth) is supplementation. I use five supplement protocols called the Blasto Pack. You can click here to view, and the protocol is under the details tab.
These include:
- ProbioSupreme SB (Saccharomyces Boulardii) – A specific type of probiotics to fight the Blastocystis
- Yeast Defeat™
- Microb-Balance™
- N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine – An amino acid that helps to break down biofilms and allows treatments to work better
- C Bioflavonoids 500
These can be taken daily over a three-month period, with some seeing results even faster. In addition to these, I recommend the Functional Five™ supplements and a smoothie in the morning that combines protein, fiber, essential fats, and FreeGreens™ that, provide a way to nourish and cleanse the gut, immune system, and body.
As the yeast and parasites are dying off, it’s important to clear them out of your system. The idea is as the parasite clears up, the skin clears up.
